New Supreme Court poll reveals Americans’ clear message to Congress

June 16, 2023

Left’s ethics claims and other attacks on Supreme Court don’t work with voters

A year after the U.S. Supreme Court reversed Roe v. Wade and after months of dangerous protests at the homes of Justices, liberal manufactured ethics scandals, and failure to disclose who leaked the Dobbs opinion, media and political pundits alike have joined in a reckless campaign to delegitimize the court and its decisions.

Calls from the left to change the structure of the court reached a crescendo with more than 30 "progressive" groups joining together recently in the left’s latest effort to "save democracy" through restructuring the court to achieve their preferred partisan outcomes.

Americans, however, strongly reject these dangerous efforts.

US Constitution's exception for slavery faces renewed battle ahead of Juneteenth

June 16, 2023

Three legislators are working to abolish the so-called slavery loophole in the U.S. Constitution ahead of Juneteenth, which marks the day in 1865 when the last enslaved African Americans learned they were free.

Read this paragraph carefully to understand what it trying to be accomplished.  Think about it.

As it stands, the Constitution states: “Neither slavery nor involuntary servitude, except as a punishment for crime whereof the party shall have been duly convicted, shall exist within the United States, or any place subject to their jurisdiction.”

The Democratic legislators – Rep. Nikema Williams, D-Ga., Sen. Cory Booker, D-N.J., and Sen. Jeff Merkley, D-Ore. – want to strike it from the record, introducing the "Abolition Amendment" late Wednesday to negate the exception.

The Government Keeps Lying to Us About Ukraine. Where Is the Outrage?

June 16, 2023

n June 4, a group referring to itself as the "Polish Volunteer Corps" issued a boastful announcement confirming its participation in a series of cross-border ground offensives into Russia. News of these audacious raids was jarring enough, given the many prior assurances of U.S. and Ukrainian war planners, who insisted no attacks would be carried out inside Russian territory. It was all the more conspicuous that the incursion units were apparently comprised of Polish soldiers.

Poland, of course, is not only a NATO member state, but the NATO member state with which the U.S. has most assiduously aligned itself since Russia's February 2022 invasion of Ukraine (Polish government officials deny any formal connection to the "Polish Volunteer Corps"). So the raids raised an obvious, yet oft-neglected question: Just what the hell is U.S. policy in Ukraine?

Whose Country Is It?

June 16, 2023

Trump’s call to end birthright citizenship is a necessary corrective.

Former president and current presidential candidate Donald Trump pledged to end birthright citizenship in a recent campaign announcement, promising to sign an executive order on his first day in office to prevent “the future children of illegal aliens” from receiving automatic citizenship. The proposal promises to clarify at least a century of constitutional ambiguity on the subject of American citizenship and its automatic bestowal upon anyone born on the soil of the nation. Immigration has emerged as the most important domestic issue in the 2024 election cycle, with estimates of upwards of ten million illegal aliens flooding the country under the Biden regime. The magnitude of the ongoing crisis far surpasses the number of illegal border crossings in the lead up to the 2016 presidential election, when then-candidate Trump first proposed the idea in response to a crisis whose scale was itself unprecedented for the time. Nearly a decade later, the problem has only worsened. The need for dramatic action—even more than in Trump’s first term—is palpable.

No Objective Evidence the Federal ‘Assault Weapons’ Ban Saved Lives

June 16, 2023

“For the children we can save,” declared President Biden on June 2, “we should reinstate the assault weapons ban and high-capacity magazines that we passed in 1994.” To support this claim, Biden alleged:

And in the 10 years it was law, mass shootings went down. But after Republicans let the law expire in 2004 and those weapons were allowed to be sold again, mass shootings tripled. Those are the facts

Trump's indictment is not the slam dunk case liberal media believes it is

June 15, 2023

The media’s pronouncements that Donald Trump is almost certainly guilty of crimes are based on an ignorance of the law and a blinding political bias. As is often the case with capacious fiats mouthed by the featherhead class, the opposite is true.

The former president has several viable defenses. Some will be offered in pre-trial motions challenging the 37 charges in a Florida grand jury indictment related to his handling of alleged classified documents. These motions are appealable if denied. Such interlocutory petitions and arguments are laborious and time-consuming. They render Special Counsel Jack Smith’s stated ambition of a "speedy trial" fanciful, at best.

Government Allegedly Targets Conservatives and Christians as Terrorists: Watchdog

June 15, 2023

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS)  is allegedly using an anti-terrorism program to target conservatives, Christians, and Republicans. This program was detailed in a recent report by a nonprofit organization.

Through FOIA requests, the Media Research Center (MRC) was able to exclusively obtain documents showing that federal funds allocated to DHS’ program to prevent violence and terrorism were used to target conservatives, said Dan Schneider, vice president of the MRC.

The MRC is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to document and counter the falsehoods and censorship of the media.

Biden re-ups call for amnesty as he marks 11th anniversary of Obama's DACA program

June 15, 2023

President Biden on Thursday re-upped calls for an amnesty for some illegal immigrants as he marked the 11th anniversary of an Obama-era program that granted deportation protection for those who arrived as minors.

Biden marked the anniversary of the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program, which shielded illegal immigrants who came to the U.S. as minors. That resulted in over 800,000 "Dreamers" being granted protection and the ability to work in the U.S.

"Dreamers are Americans. Many have spent the majority of their lives in the United States," Biden said. "They are our doctors, our teachers and our small business owners. Dreamers strengthen our economy, enrich our workplaces and, during the COVID-19 pandemic, many served their communities on the frontlines,"

Experts claim that CCP propaganda aims to weaken European unity.

 June 15, 2023

China’s communist leadership is attempting to fracture European unity and sow distrust in international organizations, according to testimony received by a U.S. government agency.

China now considers a politically fragmented Europe to be among its core interests, according to Andrew Small, a senior fellow for the German Marshall Fund think tank.

“I think that has been one of the big shifts on the Chinese side [in recent years],” Small said during a June 15 hearing of the U.S.-China Economic and Security Review Commission (USCC).

Bombshell from 2022: Biden repeatedly hinted at using legal means to prevent Trump’s potential return to power

June 15, 2023

We found it on tape. President Biden expressly said that he would use the full power of the United States government to ensure that former President Trump will not become the next president again.

As the 45th president builds his legal defense to counter Special Counsel Jack Smith’s Crime-Fraud Exception Strategy and have the case thrown out, the government’s case could further fall apart if the Trump team can show that the DOJ is using selective, premeditated, biased, prosecution techniques to target him based on a presidential directive to achieve a desired result.

But, first, here’s some context.

Pentagon created pride coloring book for children

June 15, 2023

The Department of Defense (DOD) created a Pride-themed coloring book for military kids amid a cross-military service push to celebrate Pride month.

DOD announced the theme for Pride month in 2023 was “Equality Without Exception — Pride In All Who Serve,” and planned to host activities through various sub-agencies, including parades and family story hours, to observe Pride month. The activity booklet is geared toward younger audiences, according to DOD’s Defense Equal Opportunity Management Institute (DEOMI), which is noted on the final page as having published the book, and was promoted to children by other DOD entities, the Daily Caller News Foundation found.

The coloring book, dated in June, appears to be among various training and awareness materials the Pentagon created to aid Pride observances, which are featured on the dedicated DEOMI webpage.

Joe Biden Punishes Pro-Life State By Revoking Health Care Grant for Poor People

June 15, 2023

The Biden administration recently pulled $4.5 million in funding from the Oklahoma State Department of Health’s (OSDH) family planning services in what critics call an act of retribution for the state’s pro-life laws.

According to the OSDH, Biden’s Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) revoked the grant due to the OSDH’s pro-life family services being deemed “out of compliance” by the federal government.

As a result, the OSDH is now unable to serve around 30,000 low-income people with family health services such as counseling, testing and treatment ofr STDs, physical examinations, and prenatal care and education.

The Trans Lobby Is Campaigning To Make It Illegal To Talk A Child Out Of A Sex Change

June 15, 2023

Transgender activists, hospitals and medical associations are pressuring lawmakers in Michigan to pass a “conversion therapy” ban that critics say would effectively prohibit therapists from helping gender-confused children come to terms with their natural bodies and biological sex.

If enacted, the ban would be another win for activists and their medical industry allies who have helped push more than 20 states to ban clinical attempts to change a minor patient’s “gender identity.” Critics say these laws silence and intimidate therapists who don’t automatically affirm young patients’ transgender status and put them on the medicalization track. (RELATED: Major Foreign Insurer Cuts Coverage For ‘Gender-Affirming’ Doctors, Citing Lawsuits Over Transition Regret)

Flag Day 2023 reflection: The fight for freedom is HERE

June 15, 2023

June 14th is an important day for me every year.

First, it is the anniversary of a tragic loss of an American hero, U.S. Marine Lance Corporal Joshua Klinger, in Al Fallujah, Iraq in 2005. Every year on this day, I reflect on Joshua’s sacrifice for this country, and on a promise I made to his mother and father to take care of him on that deployment. I will be eternally sorrowful for my inability to keep that promise, but I remain eternally grateful when I remember the promise of eternal life granted to believers like Joshua.

Second, it is “Flag Day” established by President Woodrow Wilson on the 100th anniversary of the June 14, 1777, Second Continental Congress’s’ resolution that “the flag of the United States be 13 stripes, alternate red and white,” and that “the union be 13 stars, white in a blue field, representing a new constellation.”

SUPREME COURT COUP

 June 14, 2023

The U.S. Supreme Court is one of the most respected and revered institutions in America. For more than 200 years, it has been a bulwark in protecting our liberties. In many cases, the nation’s highest court is the last line of defense for those whose constitutional, God-given rights come under attack. It’s no surprise why the judiciary consistently ranks as the most trusted branch of the federal government, according to.

Today, however, the Supreme Court and America’s judicial system are under heavy attack.

One side of the political aisle—along with activists and organization on the extreme Left—have launched a full-scale effort to “reform” America’s courts. They claim to want to “restore balance” and “fix” the nation’s highest court. Why? Because the Court has allegedly been “stolen” or “captured.”

The Origins of the New Right – And its Future

June 14, 2023

A true America First platform is the only way forward.

The conservative movement has reached a definitive turning point in 2022. We can clearly see the emergence of a new right forming before our very eyes. The political process which ignited anew with onset of the Trump era is maturing, and a whole new crop of leaders are grabbing the proverbial baton, furthering and deepening the ideological and intellectual strands of the movement. The old Republican Party, which despite winning some electoral victories, has been on life support for years now. The energy of the grassroots, and now more and more of new elected officials, is giving way to a new nationalist, conservative populism which, in a very positive way, is bigger than Donald Trump.

In fact, AI is FAR beyond those capabilities, and it’s learning more skills each day — some of which truly are terrifying to imagine. In this clip, Glenn recaps a recent conversation he had with Tristan Harris, a former design ethicist at Google. Glenn explains that we’re now in ‘second contact’ with A.I., and how A.I. is learning to MANIPULATE us just like fellow humans can…

CEO of the Tax Foundation Daniel Bunn urges lawmakers to reign in federal spending

June 14, 2023

From the latest Ripon Forum, CEO of the Tax Foundation Daniel Bunn urges lawmakers to reign in federal spending now to save our economy for the future:
Is the U.S. tax system rigged in favor of the rich? That’s the belief of many Americans today, but the data suggests otherwise. The U.S. tax and transfer system is highly progressive and redistributive. But if policymakers continue to double down on this progressivity while ignoring our nation’s debt, it could come at a cost to the American economy.
There are many ways to measure this, but the most thorough is the “effective fiscal incidence rate” — the amount of tax a person bears (directly and indirectly) relative to their comprehensive income (including government transfers). Government transfers — which include things like Social Security and Medicaid — make up 59 percent of the bottom quintile’s income; excluding transfers when looking at our tax code vastly understates the progressivity of our fiscal system.
But even before accounting for government transfers, the combined federal, state, and local tax system is progressive. In 2019, the top quintile of households paid 34.5 percent, while the middle and bottom quintiles paid 24.7 percent and 24.6 percent, respectively.
When transfers are included, the system becomes substantially more progressive: the top quintile’s rate jumps to 41.4 percent, while the middle and bottom quintiles drop to 22.4 percent and 10.1 percent, respectively. All told, the transfer system redistributed $1.7 trillion from the top two quintiles to the bottom three in 2019. This is not a system that benefits the rich at the expense of the poor.
While this sounds “fair” on paper, keep in mind that progressivity comes at a cost. Research finds a negative relationship between taxes and growth, with a more pronounced effect for progressive taxes.
Why? Because people respond to incentives. On the margin, higher taxes on corporations and shareholders reduce the incentives to invest, which means fewer workers, lower wages, and less innovation. And progressive taxes lower the returns to education, investment, entrepreneurialism, and risk-taking. Lower levels of these activities harm not just individuals, but the broader economy.
Unfortunately, this hasn’t tempered proposals to make the U.S. tax system even more progressive. At the state level, seven states have introduced legislation to enact wealth taxes targeting net worth, capital gains, and estates. These, as Tax Foundation’s Jared Walczak puts it, “are economically destructive, their base is almost impossible to measure accurately, and they create perverse incentives and promote costly avoidance strategies. Very few taxpayers would remit wealth taxes — but many more would pay the price.”
And at the federal level, President Biden’s recently released budget would add almost $4.8 trillion in new taxes over the next decade, targeted at high-income individuals and businesses. Though these policies are aimed at the rich, they’ll impact everybody. These changes would reduce long-run GDP, shrink wages, and eliminate 335,000 jobs, according to Tax Foundation research.
