The 3 likely ways Bud Light disaster might end – and only one is good news

May 8, 2023

Budweiser-Dylan Mulvaney controversy is no longer about a boycott. It's a matter of executive survival

Remember when drinking Bud Light wasn’t a heavy topic? Now, one of the anchor products for Budweiser is dragging down an entire company.

Just the other day, video surfaced of fans lined up to get beer in Boston’s renown Fenway Park. Lined up at every concession stand but one – the one selling Budweiser and, especially Bud Light.

This is no longer about a boycott. This is about executive survival, which matters far more to CEOs and the people they pay. As Mel Brooks’ Gov. William J. Le Petomane memorably declared, "We’ve gotta protect our phony, baloney jobs, gentlemen!"

I’m a doctor and my Black parents saw me break free of segregation. Now medical schools are bringing it back

May 8, 2023

Medical schools are returning to ‘separate but equal,’ but doctors know we’re all the same on the inside

My mother and father went to segregated schools, separated from Whites because they were Black. They told me, as a child, that they wanted better for me. They got their wish when I went to Stanford University and then the University of California at San Francisco’s medical school, both fully integrated and welcoming. Before they passed away, they firmly believed that the era of separating people by race was over forever.

My parents were wrong.

Higher education is deliberately re-segregating, driven by race-obsessed activists who, bizarrely, claim to oppose "systemic racism." Universities like Harvard and Chicago have held Black-only graduation ceremonies in recent years.

George Stephanopoulos admits new 2024 poll 'just brutal for President Biden'

May 8, 2023

Former DNC Chairwoman Donna Brazile said the 'sobering' new 2024 poll proves Biden's coalition is 'fragmented'

ABC News anchor George Stephanopoulos pulled no punches reacting to a new poll on air Sunday that showed the vast majority of Americans don't believe President Biden has the physical or mental capacity to serve another term.

"This poll is just brutal for President Biden!" Stephanopoulos said on "This Week," referencing the findings of a new survey released Sunday by ABC News and the Washington Post.

The poll released Sunday found that 63% of American adults do not think Biden, 80, has the "mental sharpness" it takes to serve effectively as president, compared to only 32% who believe he does and 5% who have no opinion. The number shot up nine percentage points since the same poll was conducted a year ago when 54% said he didn’t have the mental capacity for the job.

Yellen warns of ‘economic chaos’ unless Congress raises the debt ceiling

May 8, 2023

Janet Yellen has been screaming this warning for six months.  The Left wants to pressure the GOP to raise the debt ceiling without spending cuts or restrictions. Richard Medlock

  • Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen on Sunday said that failure to raise the debt ceiling will cause a “steep economic downturn” in the U.S.
  • She reiterated her warning that the Treasury Department may run out of measures to pay its debt obligations by June.
  • “It’s widely agreed that financial and economic chaos will ensue,” Yellen said.

“Our current projection is that in early June, a day will come when we’re unable to pay our bills unless Congress raises the debt ceiling, and it’s something I strongly urge Congress to do,” Yellen told ABC’s “This Week.”

Here is a good dose of common sense.... My definition of "gun control" is hitting what you're shooting at.

May 8, 2023

1 - Eleven teens die each day because of texting while driving. Maybe it's time to raise the age of Smart Phone ownership to 21. (FACT)

2 - If gun control laws actually worked, Chicago would be Mayberry.

3 - The Second Amendment makes more women equal than the entire feminist movement.

4 - Legal gun owners have 300 million guns and probably a trillion rounds of ammo. Seriously, folks, if they were the problem, you'd know it.

5 - When JFK was killed, nobody blamed the rifle.

6 - The NRA (National Rifle Association) murders 0 people and receives ($$$$ 0) nothing in government funds. Planned Parenthood kills 350,000 babies every year and receives $500,000,000 in our tax dollars annually.

7 - I have no problem with vigorous background checks when it comes to firearms. While we're at it, let's do the same when it comes to immigration, Voter I.D., and candidates running for office.

8 - Folks keep talking about another Civil War. One side knows how to shoot and probably has a trillion rounds. The other side has crying closets and is confused about which bathroom to use. How do you think that would work out?

9 A man who left 300,000 guns for the Taliban is lecturing folks on gun control.

Don’t be afraid to share this. There’s more logic and common sense expressed here than probably anything you have seen on the news today.

Megyn Kelly Uses Latest Mass Shooting to Dunk On Gun Reformer Activists: ‘You Have LOST. It’s DONE.’

May 8, 2023

Megyn Kelly reacted to the shooting in Allen, Texas by blaming gun control activists who keep fighting for a politically-difficult solution instead of considering alternatives to prevent mass killings.

The SiriusXM host took to Twitter on Saturday night with her thoughts on the mall outlet shooting where eight people were killed and at least seven more were injured before the perpetrator was neutralized. In her tweets, Kelly nihilistically determined that gun control proponents will never succeed against the Second Amendment, so it’s time for them to abandon that goal and look at other ways of curbing gun violence.

“You’ve failed to effect change,” Kelly said to control advocates. “Please face it. You can’t do it, thanks to the 2A. We’re all well aware you don’t like that fact, but fact it is. What next? Must we just stay here sad, concerned, lamenting? Could we possibly talk OTHER SOLUTIONS?”

Kelly then offered her ideas on how to stop mass shootings.

The Election Integrity Cold War Is About to Get Hot

May 7, 2023

Republicans are striking back at Joe Biden’s electoral overhaul.

A common refrain from Democratic Party politicians is that the right to vote is sacrosanct – and rightly so – but that Republicans are hell-bent on taking that right away from as many Americans as they can. Election integrity has been the buzzword ever since Donald Trump was falsely accused of stealing the 2016 presidential race. In particular, the narrative insists, minority communities are especially targeted. While voter turnout in red states shows this not to be the case, Democrats persist. But even though participating in elections is a right, it is not the federal government’s place to use its taxpayer-funded resources for electioneering. This is precisely what Joe Biden approved – and, in fact, mandated – when he signed Executive Order 14019 in March of this year. Now, Republicans are pushing back with legislation that would block the key parts of the EO until federal agencies come clean about how they intend to involve themselves in Biden’s grand plan to “promote and defend the right to vote.”

Election Integrity or Interference?

Biden announces 40% drop in inflation since last summer

May 7, 2023

Biden is a very delusional man.  He reads what's in front of him and that's it.  He does not live anywhere near the real world.  This is all a lie, and they know it along with all of America.

While speaking at a meeting with the White House Investing in America Cabinet on Friday, President Joe Biden praised the downward trend in recent inflation. Biden said the last nine months had seen inflation drop by 40%.

Dem, GOP House Intel leaders: Israel, Jordan, Egypt want 'stronger' US role in region as China makes inroads

May 7, 2023

China recently brokered a deal between Iran and Saudi Arabia

House Intelligence Committee Republican Chairman Mike Turner, R-Ohio, and ranking Democrat Rep. Jim Himes, D-Conn., revealed that Israel, Jordan and Egypt are pushing for a greater U.S. presence in the Middle East amid growing concerns of a nuclear Iran and an increased Chinese footprint.

"[Israel, Jordan and Eqypt] were all very much encouraging the United States on a policy basis to have a stronger role, thinking that there are real opportunities to increase the security situation here, but at the same time, painting a picture that there are serious threats in the area and the United States should be playing a role," Turner said on CNN's "State of the Union" Sunday.

Turner and Himes both recently met with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, shortly after House Speaker Kevin McCarthy's visit to Israel in May. Himes said Netanyahu is "very focused on Iran," saying "it was intolerable for him to imagine an Iran with a nuclear weapon."

California reparations panel approves payments of up to $1.2 million to every Black resident

 May 7, 2023

California's legislature could vote on the panel's recommendations

The California Reparations Task Force formally recommended that the state offer payments of up to $1.2 million to every qualifying Black resident.

The task force held a public meeting in Oakland, California, on Saturday and voted on the final set of recommendations to be sent to the state's legislators. The nine-member panel called on the state to offer its Black residents a formal apology in addition to the payments.

"Reparations are not only morally justifiable, but they have the potential to address long-standing racial disparities and inequalities," Rep. Barbara Lee, D-Calif., said after attending the meeting.

Biden setting stage for pardoning Hunter as he frames potential DOJ charges as 'political witch hunt'

May 7, 2023

Biden denied that a potential Hunter indictment would have any impact on his presidency

President Biden is setting the stage for pardoning his son Hunter as his Department of Justice weighs a potential indictment stemming from a years-long federal investigation, Fox News contributor Miranda Devine warned.

Devine's comments come after Biden finally addressed the possibility of his son facing charges during a rare sit-down interview where he dismissed the chance that it would have any impact on his tenure in office.

"That mythology of Joe Biden that's been around for more than four decades, which is that he's a lovely family man… moderate Democrat, lunch pail Joe, working class Joe, the poorest man in Congress, and a wonderful family man full of empathy because of the tragedies in his own life. That's what he's playing on," Devine said during "Fox & Friends Weekend" Sunday.

Scope Ratings places U.S. credit ratings under review for possible downgrade

May 7, 2023

Scope Ratings on Friday placed the United States of America’s AA long-term issuer and senior unsecured debt ratings in local and foreign currency under review for a possible downgrade due to longer run risks associated with the misuse of the debt ceiling instrument.

Scope, which is seen as the leading European credit rating agency, said that recurrent debt-ceiling crises have resulted in phases of debt repayment distress for the U.S government, adding that the government is dependent on last-minute congressional action to ensure repayment of its debt in full and on time.

A rise in political polarization, divided government since November 2022 congressional elections and more elevated federal deficits over the forthcoming years are the other reasons Scope cited for the ratings review.

Activists demand higher payments from California reparations task force: '$200 million' per person

May 7, 2023

California activists demand millions more for every Black resident than current proposal

Activists on Saturday demanded that the state of California pay millions of dollars to each Black resident in reparations as a way to make amends for slavery and subsequent discrimination, dismissing the mammoth proposals from California's reparations task force as too little.

The demands were made at a highly explosive official meeting of the task force, which was created by state legislation signed by Democratic Gov. Gavin Newsom in 2020. The committee was hearing comments from the public as it considers final recommendations to submit to the California Legislature, which will then decide whether to implement the measures and send them to Newsom's desk to be signed into law.

An activist identified as Reverend Tony Pierce was one of the most outspoken people at the gathering, making reference to the famous "40 acres and a mule" promise to former slaves when he took the podium.

Swamp Feels the Third-Party Jitters

May 7, 2023

Republicans and Democrats tend to view a third-party presidential run as either a pest to be ignored or a threat to their ultimate vote share — depending on the candidate’s political persuasion. An inbuilt advantage exists for the legacy parties that would take an upheaval of historic proportions to upset. But it has happened, and with dramatic results. The possibility of an insurgent rush to the 2024 ballot appears to be causing night terrors in the DC Swamp.

West Virginia Sen. Joe Manchin gave his strongest hint yet that he may be ready to take the third-party plunge during a recent interview. “I’ve been part of No Labels since December of 2010,” he said, referencing the self-described “centrist” organization. “It’s the only game in town that wants to bring people together and get Democrats and Republicans working together.”

The Soros Tripwire

Criticism of this powerful personage cannot be silenced by calling it “antisemitism.”

Ihave never before seriously considered suing a newspaper for libel, but I am now, prompted by this piece of filth: “Israeli Speakers to Join Orban, Global Right in Major Conservative Summit in Hungary.”

I have never heard of Jonathan Shamir, but based on this article I can only conclude he is a character assassin. I suppose whether or not I am “extreme” is a matter of opinion, but whether the United States’ pre-World War II America First Committee was a “fascist pressure group” is a checkable assertion of fact. Which is wrong. The America First Committee was a group that held the defensible position that the United States, after having entered the First World War and lost 116,000 citizens, nearly all of them young men, to dubious utility to the national interest, should not enter the Second. One may disagree with that opinion, but most Americans agreed with it until the attack on Pearl Harbor radically transformed American public opinion.

Perspective: Why everyone feels under attack right now

May 7, 2023

On March 27, six people were killed at a Christian school in Nashville, Tennessee, by a former student who identified as transgender. Everyone was rightfully horrified — left and right, and whatever side of the sexuality and gender debate you are on.

A few days later, White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre decried new bills emerging in state legislatures putting some restrictions on gender transition procedures for youth. Calling these bills “hateful” and threatening to “freedom,” she said, “Our hearts go out to the trans community as they are under attack right now.”

Predictably, that remark provoked outrage from people who found the timing inappropriate. Former White House press secretary and Fox News host Kayleigh McEnany called out the White House for the “audacity” of choosing that moment to speak of attacks on the trans community.

While Jean-Pierre’s comments were certainly misguided, they were not focused on Nashville at all. But their temporal proximity to the school shooting inflicted by a trans-identifying person was all it took. McEnany declared with emotion that it was the Christian community truly under attack, and her co-host Emily Compagno went on to insist that these state bills have “nothing to do with ‘anti’ or ‘hate’” and instead protect Christians from “this overbearing, overreaching government.”

Every generation has been ‘doomed’ — yet we’re still here

May 7, 2023

Lamenting the challenges and culture of the succeeding generation is a phenomenon that dates back to the days of Aristotle, who claimed:

“(Young people) are high-minded because they have not yet been humbled by life, nor have they experienced the force of circumstances.”

Why older generations seem to have a bleak outlook for younger generations is a question some social scientists have sought to answer. In 2019, researchers John Protzko and Jonathan Schooler did a series of tests to find why this phenomenon exists, naming it the “Kids these days effect.”

Generation Z and millennials are known for coming of age while smartphones are ubiquitous, which has presented them with their own set of challenges and even stereotypes. The current generation of young people has been referred to as “lazy,” “sensitive” and “materialistic,” and has been credited with contributing to the downfall of several major industries that had been standing strong for decades.

But the baby boomers faced their own set of criticism, being called “dirty, unlawful, immoral ... lazy, and we ‘don’t wanna work,’” Kelly Ellis Florez, who is a boomer, told the Deseret News. “It was the same exact stuff.”

What are you searching for? ‘Resign Or Be Impeached’: House Republicans Are Taking Action To Hold The 51 Intel Officials Accountable For Russia Disinformation Letter

May7, 2023

It has been established that the 51 former national security officials who signed the infamous October 2020 letter decrying the Hunter Biden laptop expose as Russian disinformation was done in the words of the drafter of that document to help Biden “win the election.” The fact that the letter‘s statement that the contents of the expose “has all the classic earmarks of a Russian information operation” was proven to be egregiously wrong and the security officials who signed it have not expressed regrets about the letter. Now several Republicans are looking to impose penalties on the organizers of the letter and its signatories, according to Just the News.

The penalties that are being discussed range from revoking security clearances and federal contracts with those associated with the letter to impeachment. Senator Ron Johnson (R-WI) told Just the News in an interview that “Exposing the truth is certainly the first step in accountability, pretty powerful accountability. But the House can impeach those individuals who are currently serving in government. And a number of those individuals … are now serving in the Biden administration. They also ought to either resign or be impeached.”

The Wisconsin Republican added that “And then we should do everything we can to revoke security clearances of every one of those individuals that sign that letter. All of them should be barred from either current or future employment with the federal government.”

Taylor Greene Reveals What ‘Staggering’ Bank Statements Indicate Regarding Hunter Biden Trafficking Schemes

May 2023

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene leveled a stunning allegation against first son Hunter Biden this week regarding what she described as information gleaned from “staggering” bank statements.

The Georgia Republican said during an interview that the statements indicate Hunter was involved in sex trafficking schemes, citing the documents, as well as suspicious activity reports that show money being transferred between him and prostitutes.

“This is true human sex trafficking of people that are not even citizens. And the question is, were they being held in some sort of sex slavery?” Greene said during an appearance on conservative commentator Benny Johnson’s podcast.

“These are the crimes that the FBI and the Department of Justice should be investigating and prosecuting with Hunter Biden because the evidence is all there, and the women are easily accessible. You can talk to them and call them in as witnesses,” she added.

Panic of Panic

May 6, 2023

Backstopping the banking system is necessary to save it, but irresponsible parties must pay a price.

Two American banks have failed—the Silicon Valley Bank (SVB) in California and Signature Bank in New York. The Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) has stepped in to take control and in the process has gone well beyond its regulatory remit. Under normal procedures, the FDIC would guarantee all deposits up to $250,000 and use the sale of the bank or pieces of it to bring larger depositors and creditors as close to whole as the asset sales allow. But in this case the FDIC has guaranteed all deposits regardless of size. Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen has indicated that Washington is likely to extend this protection to other banks too. The Federal Reserve (Fed) has established a special lending facility to ease strains further. A third bank, First Republic, looks shaky, and the biggest banks have stepped in to bolster it so that it does not join the list of failures.

Several commentators have criticized this special help, implying that it shows a favoritism toward the well-heeled and politically well connected, especially in Silicon Valley. There may be something to such criticisms, but such extraordinary actions by both the authorities and the financial community mostly reflect a desire to guard against a general banking panic. Bankers and regulators know that no bank, no matter how prudently managed or well capitalized, can withstand a run on its deposits. All depends on continued public confidence that deposits are safe. Without such confidence a general run could bring down the whole banking system and, as occurred in the financial crisis of 2008 and 2009, drive the economy into a deep recession.

'Climate Czar' John Kerry Is Negotiating With the CCP, James Comer Threatens Subpoena to Find out Why

May 6, 2023

One-time presidential candidate and former Secretary of State John Kerry wasn’t elected to his current position as Special Presidential Envoy for Climate—nor was he confirmed by Congress for the cabinet-level role. In fact, President Joe Biden created simply created the title and appointed Kerry to fill it, which conveniently does not require congressional approval.

But the unelected, unconfirmed “Climate Czar” has been holding private meetings with his Chinese counterparts, and House Oversight Committee Chair Rep. James Comer (R-KY) wants to know why. In February, Comer served notice that his committee would investigate the matter, and on Friday he doubled down, saying the committee was going to subject Kerry and his activities to “intense scrutiny”:

U.S. launches $4 billion effort to electrify U.S. ports, cut emissions

May 6, 2023

The Biden administration on Friday launched a $4 billion effort to electrify U.S. ports and cut heavy duty truck emissions as the government looks to address disproportionate impacts on nearby communities.

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) said it was seeking input in its $3 billion Clean Ports Program to reduce pollutants at U.S. ports and its $1 billion Clean Heavy-Duty Vehicle Program to reduce vehicle emissions near ports and other truck routes. EPA wants details about the availability, market price, and performance of zero-emission trucks, zero-emission port equipment, electric charging and other infrastructure needs for zero-emission technologies.

White House National Climate Advisor Ali Zaidi said the program is addressing "pernicious pollution pumping through our port communities by making investments and setting standards that will spur a shift away from dirty diesel to clean, American-made technologies."

THE GOVERNMENT CREATED A NEW DISINFORMATION OFFICE TO OVERSEE ALL THE OTHER ONES

 May 6, 2023

WITHIN THE FEDERAL government, offices dedicated to fighting foreign disinformation are springing up like daisies, from the Pentagon’s new Influence and Perception Management Office to at least four organizations inside the Department of Homeland Security alone, as well as ones inside the FBI and State Department.

To oversee the growing efforts — which arose in response to concerns about the impact of Russian meddling in the 2016 election but have now expanded — the director of national intelligence has created a new office.

In testimony before the Senate Armed Services Committee Thursday, Director of National Intelligence Avril Haines for the first time mentioned the creation of the Foreign Malign Influence Center, or FMIC. “Congress put into law that we should establish a Foreign Malign Influence Center in the intelligence community; we have stood that up,” Haines said, referring to legislation passed last year. “It encompasses our election threat work, essentially looking at foreign influence and interference in elections, but it also deals with disinformation more generally.”

‘Jaws’ star Richard Dreyfuss blasts Hollywood inclusion standards: ‘They make me vomit’

May 6, 2023

Dreyfuss claimed that the Oscars' inclusion guidelines are 'patronizing' and reveal that people are 'so fragile'

Legendary actor Richard Dreyfuss condemned Hollywood’s new inclusivity standards in strong terms during a recent interview, claiming they make him "vomit."

Dreyfuss, who’s starred in "Jaws" "Close Encounters of the Third Kind," and many other classic Hollywood films, blistered the new diversity and inclusion guidelines that will be implemented at the Academy Awards starting next year.

The guidelines must be adhered to by any film in the running for a "Best Picture" Oscar.

As first noted on Hollywood in Toto, PBS anchor Margaret Hoover brought up the new guidelines during her interview with the actor on PBS’ "Firing Line" Friday.

The anchor stated, "Starting in 2024, films will be required to meet new inclusion standards to be eligible for the Academy Awards for ‘Best Picture.’ They’ll have to have a certain percentage of actors or crew from under-represented racial or ethnic groups."

She asked, "What do you think of these new inclusion standards for films?"

Not holding back, Dreyfuss declared, "They make me vomit."
